Notes from the President
Anne always writes brilliantly about our speakers, so I will only briefly mention how impressed I was by the presentation given by Yee Lin Ang, about her time at NYSF in January. She showed a maturity beyond her years and even dealt with numerous very difficult questions put to her without blinking. Well done Yee Lin!
There are a lot of activities being planned at present, which I will list later in this talk. Some are social and some are community based. We are trying to keep members engaged, and active, but we need to remember that we are a service club. We have formulated a team structure covering the five areas of service, and at present the board is working on a strategic plan to define the club’s activities over the next three years. The Community team met on Monday night and tossed around various ideas for projects, but this will be a slow work in progress.
On May 1st Kew High School is holding a Sustainability Summit and John McCaskill is hoping to collaborate with Balwyn High School to provide education about bees and pollination. If you would like to help, please contact John.
On 4th May, we will not have a meeting in Canterbury but will meet at Rimern and afterwards go for dinner at Darebin RSL. This activity is mainly planned to educate new members about Rimern.
On 25th May, instead of a speaker, we will be having a special new members evening with the topic of discussion being “How to plan a project”. We are hoping to make this a very special evening for everyone.
Changeover will occur at Studley Grounds on the 29th of June and invitations will be going out shortly. Please remember to book through Trybooking
It is time for the next roster for the Camberwell market duty to be organised, so could you please contact John Pocock with any wishes so that he can finalise the roster. There has also been some interest in having a Canterbury Rotary stall at the Camberwell market, so if you are interested, please contact John McCaskill, or Ross Meloni.
