PLAYING THE BALL WHERE IT LIES
Lili Ann Kriegler, on of our own, spoke to us on Monday night about one of the one hundred fellowships in the world of Rotary International. Both she and husband Pierre are members of the International Golfing Fellowship of Rotarian Australia. ( IGFRA)
Lili Ann has a very impressive profile - emigrating to Australia from South Africa, working with Independent Schools Victoria, then becoming an education consultant, a former Director of Early Learning at Fintona and more recently, the author of four books.
Any Rotary Fellowship is open to both the Rotarian and to families and friends.
Being part of IGFR is an exciting proposition, one which widens your network of friendships. The President of IGFR Australia is Paul Simon, a former Australian Army member who lives in Darwin.
There are many ways to apply the lessons of golf to our daily lives. The ups and downs of life are prevalent, even in a game of golf. Lili Ann explained that the different experiences in her life, and that IGFR has opened up her mind. Her final thoughts from the talk included encouragement to be adventurous and the fact that fellowship enhances club activities in general.
