President Lili-Ann again had the unfortunate news that another of our members will be leaving us at the end of this year.
Amir and Narges Salehi are going to move to Tasmania for business purposes in the near future but will be joining a local rotary club in their new home town. Amir has been an active member having been involved with many events in particular at Maling Road, plant sales and Inner East events. We will miss Amir and Narges - good luck for the future.
During our meeting members discussed options for assisting Swinburne University students who are facing difficult times during the Covid-19 restriction period. The Board will consider the proposals shortly.
Rose Stewart suggested that the Club looks at the possibility of providing assistance with toiletries for patients who arrive at emergency hospitals unprepared for overnight stays following their medical treatment. It appears that a program providing this type of support is already established in the District and will be followed-up by the Club.
Tony Laycock mentioned that Balwyn RC, who managed the Camberwell Sunday Market, are undertaking a survey to evaluate the most appropriate date and arrangements for re-commencing the Market.
