Camberwell Sunday Market

Camberwell Sunday Market

Every Sunday morning, this suburban car park in Camberwell is transformed into a vibrant, sprawling hotbed for lovers of trash and treasure.

From records to rings, buttons to boots, as long as it’s secondhand, antique or vintage, it’s sold here at the Camberwell Sunday Market. Just have a look at the sample of photos below.

MarketEach week three volunteers from our club help to run this market by collecting entry donations at the gates. This earns our club around $1,000.00 per week, that helps to fund the many local and international projects that our club members run each year. Every dollar that is donated goes to the projects. Rotarians are all volunteers who each pay their own costs. No donated funds are used for administration. Read more about the market at this website.

On average we each volunteer three or four times in a year. It means that as members of this Rotary Club, we can focus the volunteer time that we are able to make available, to the delivery of service projects, rather than mostly on fund raising. Several clubs from the City of Boroondara also volunteer at this market, so it is a lovely social morning meeting other Rotarians and members of the public.

Would you like to volunteer to help us at the Camberwell Sunday Market ? Details here . . .

Nick Iremonger and John PocockDuke of Edinburgh’s Award Community Service

The 40th birthday celebration of the Camberwell Sunday market was on 28th August 2016. This day was also the last day that Nick Iremonger was on duty at the Market as a volunteer for our Rotary Club of Canterbury. Year 10, Nick had been volunteering his time for the first half shift for every Sunday for the last 3 months. He has been up early to be at the market by 7:00am in order to fulfill the community service component of his Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award. An incredible effort for a teenager! The photo is Nick Iremonger with volunteer John Pocock, from Yarra Bend Rotary.
