Last Week's Meeting - 18 November 2019

At number of matters were raised at Monday's meeting:

  • DIK is looking for assistance as they have 24 pick-ups scheduled in the period up to 17 December from schools and hospitals. Please contact Laurie Fisher (0428550574) or Bob Glimdemann (0418102702) at DIK if you are able to assist.
  • Doug Hawley distributed a certificate of recognition to the Club which was presented by a local Mayor to the members of the recent Philippines eye and ear mission.
  • Carmela Dimasi mentioned that the next in the hugely successful Twilight Cinemas will be held at Inner East on 30 November. Assistance with the night will be gratefully appreciated.
  • John McCaskill thanked all the volunteers and partners who made last week What the Buzz About Bees event such a success. As a follow-on Janet Hay is looked for assistance over the coming weeks with the sale of bee friendly plants at the Camberwell Sunday Market.
  • Lili-Ann spoke about the stall last Saturday at St Paul's fete. It was great fun, sales were a little slow but it was a good learning experience for future events.

Jenni Nankervis thanked all the members and friends (and their dogs) who joined the Alpha 1 Walk at Albert Park Lake last Sunday. It was great to see the Alpha 1 cause get so much support.
Last Week's Speakers - Tash Facci and Rob Anderson

It was an enormous thrill to hear from two of our newest members Tash Facci and Rob Anderson last Monday evening. Tony Laycock also did a great job as the compere for the interview.

There were many insights, many laughs and highlights from the presentations. We heard about growing-up, education, love of travel, passions and free time activities.

Many thanks to Tash and Rob for sharing their stories with us.

Next Week's Speaker - Rob Cameron

Rob Cameron is a lawyer and practices predominantly in the areas of commercial and administrative law. He has also since November 2017 been a Senior Member of the Commonwealth Administrative Appeals Tribunal.

He will speak to us about the the role of the Administrative Appeals Tribunal.

BustFeet Open Day Wednesday 27 November 2019

BusyFeet Boroondara are having an open day on Wednesday afternoon,  27 November starting from 4.30pm at the Hawthorn Town Hall.

As it is a joint Club project between the Rotary Clubs of Canterbury and Camberwell, we would love some members and friends to come along and watch our children dancing and to see the pure delight on these children's faces and the value of this amazing program.
