The family business sector is one of the most important contributors to the Nation and our way of life. Making up 70% of all businesses and employing 50% of the Nation’s work force, family businesses have been the backbone of the Australian economy for generations. Whether it is a start-up, or a multi-generational family business they support local economies, employment, and communities.
Yet few people spare a thought for the unique issues faced by family business owners and their families. And, whilst the issues may be unique to family businesses, they are not unique among family businesses, with many facing similar challenges, often alone, thinking they are the only ones. Out of this knowledge Family Business Australia (FBA) was formed by the family business community for the family business community. A not for profit member based association, 2023 marks the 25th year FBA supporting family businesses and the family business sector.
