Walter and Eliza Hall Institute researchers have a proud history of rising to meet the needs of our community. The Institute’s approach to COVID-19, which threatens the lives of people in Australia and around the world, is no different.
 
WEHI scientists are collaborating with medical research institutes, universities, hospitals and industry, with the united goal of developing new diagnostics, improving healthcare and finding a cure.
 
Leveraging longstanding expertise in infectious diseases, immunology and drug discovery, the team is focusing on developing much-needed treatments and rapid diagnostic tools for COVID-19 and for potential future pandemic viruses.
