Matters in the Interest of Rotary
 
  • Movie night next Monday ( 30/9/2024) or the possibility of a meal at the Harp Hotel. - NB no movie so there will be a dinner at the Harp Hotel. John B has put the word out and has asked that you let him know numbers so he can confirm the booking
  • Doug and the Team are heading off to the Philippines next Sunday for For-a-Meal, the five Rotary Clubs on behalf of the education project and the twenty-fifth Sight and Hearing Mission (which is heading for where the project first began - Bacolod).
  • A Charter Member of The Rotary Club of Canterbury, Alan Farrington, has passed away. A memorial service will be held on Thursday 26th September at Le Pine, 714 High Street, Kew East, 3102. Our condolences go to Pamela (Alan's wife) and his family.
  • Congratulations to Lili-Ann and Pierre Kriegler on the birth of their first grandchild.

In place of the usual raffle and because it is grand final week, Ross Merolli auctioned a football that he had signed by David Parkin when he recently presented at a Club meeting.

The auction bidding was not particularly strong but eventually footy fanatic Jill Woinarski paid top dollar for the footy – well done.

Note from the Ed. - I will be travelling with Doug on the medical mission next week so it is unlikely that there will be a bulletin (unless someone else takes that on for next week). Back in time for the following weeks missive! Hopefully jam packed with stacks of news
