Thanks to Ant for chairing last week meeting and providing his thoughts for the day about the decrease in kindness around the world.
The first from Archbishop Desmond Tutu

And the second from Aesop

And so on to matters in the interest of Rotary
- Tony reminded those present about the working bee on March 24th at Camp Getaway - asking for a show of hands who will attend. Seems reasonable with about a dozen members heading up to help
- Also, conference bookings are closing soon. We have 7 members attending so far and this number (plus partners) has been advised to our sister club Woodend to confirm for the Friday night dinner. If you are planning to go let Tony L know as he is the on to conference contact
- Rob Simpson has booked a spot on behalf of the club at the Boroondara Volunteer Expo on March 20th (1-6pm). He will be manning our display. This coming Monday we will be having a round table get together to address a few questions. Rob will use the answers to present at the expo so it would be great to have as many as possible attending. Questions will include - Why did I join Rotary? Tony L did a survey with that very question back in 2018 and it would be good to measure the results against each other
- Bob advised that the club will join RIMERN on Monday April 15th to celebrate our contribution to their efforts. This will be at the Yarraville RSL - more details to follow closer to the date
- He also mentioned that RIMERN have registered themselves as a charity for the Bottle and can collection that the Vic government has just implemented. He has volunteered to help with collection and ensuring they receive the funds generated
- However, John B has also registered RC Canterbury for the same. Your choice
- Same Sunday as the working bee - i.e. March 24th RC Kew is hosting the Boroondara Antiques Fair. So if you are not going to Camp Getaway maybe you have some antiques (no wise cracks) you would like to take along.
