There were a number of items of interest raised at the meeting:
 
  • President Lili-Ann mentioned the Chances Golf Day on 28 October at Box Hill Golf Course. Would anyone interested in playing please see Lili-Ann.
 
  • Greg Vero announced that the Club is part of a successful Global Grant process which has secured $250000 in funding for an Indian Toilet Project which will assist more that 7000 students. This is a great venture for the Club to be involved with.
 
  • Bill Granger is looking  to finalise the accommodation numbers for the Mitchell River Rotary Club annual auction on the weekend of 26 October. Members and friends attending will be staying in accommodation at Paynesville which is just a short drive from Bairnsdale. Please see Bill if you are going to attend this event which aims to raise funds for the drought relief initiatives being undertaken by the Mitchell River Club.
 
  • Our Youth Director Anne Josefsberg advised that the Club will be supporting a student in the Rotary Youth Program who has been referred to the Club by Swinburne University.
 
  • Val mentioned that the big FORaMEAL  Student Packing Event  at the   Hawthorn Town Hall on next Tuesday 24 September   from  11 am - 2 pm
 
We are expecting in excess of 80 students so all help will be most appreciated.

You will need to arrive ready to start work by 9.30 am as we need to be set up by 10.45.    Parking can be difficult so there are two options.   Either use the train (Glenferrie Station) or arrange to car pool with either
