Last Saturday was the Boroondara Sustainability Expo to which Rotarians for Bees was invited to have a stand. It was a fabulous event at the Glenferrie Farmers Market. Please see the write-up about the event below.
Sunday was also busy for President nominee, Jillian Stillwell and I as we attended a district event for new members. We came away knowing more people, with some ideas and Jill scored a ‘Magic of Rotary’ mug.
At Monday’s meeting, club members endorsed the recommendation of the Venue committee (base on our research and the results of the member survey) to move to Canterbury Neighbourhood Centre for meetings with Pam Thomas from Ruby T’s providing the catering, main meal and tea/coffee, table service and cleaning up. Members can still bring their own drinks. The board then approved the decision with the first meeting at CNC planned for 28 April.

Yesterday was a highlight for me as we had a further meeting with David Shepard from Council to confirm our peace pole and garden site within Victoria Park. We will be calling for volunteer to help with the layout, preparation and planting of the pollinator and peace pole garden.
The photos above is at the Boroondara Volunteers expo on Wednesday afternoon. Club members talked with many keen people and have the numbers of several who are keen to come to a meeting and participate in our projects especially gardening, FAM and RIMERN. Huge thanks to Rob Simpson, Jillian Woinarski and David Chivers for their enthusiasm and giving their time.
