FORaMeal - an active time

Here is a brief rundown of the recent FORaMEAL impact in the Philippines

 

WHERE DOES THE FOOD GO???   … Our first shipment was sent to the Philippines in February this year and finally cleared customs in July! It was then distributed to 5 strategically placed Rotary Clubs.

 

Since then, the emergency packs have been distributed as follows

 

10 Late July: Residents in Masbate City, near Manila, where 60 fire ravaged squatter houses were burnt to the ground. About 800 people were displaced from their homes

 

 

Then 3 weeks later: 7.5 Earthquake in Abra. 11 people killed, 615 injured, massive damage to property and infrastructure.

 

 

 

Then October 2022: Typhoon Noru/ Karding, North of Manila. 12 dead, 6 missing, 53,000 people displaced. 90% of houses totally damaged. FORaMEAL distributed over 3 weekends.

 

 

 

And most recently October 31, 2022 at 8.00 pm Typhoon Paeng hits in Cainta Rizal … near Manila 150 people killed, 36 still missing. As of 3 November, 59,698 families still in evacuation centres.
