At the recent Governor Training Conference held in Christchurch, New Zealand, all members of District 9800 were very proud to see that the Canterbury RC won the inaugural award for the Zone 8 Video competition. Zone 8 covers Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. The winning certificate was presented by Gina Growden, Rotary Public Image Coordinator to RC Canterbury representative Janet Hay.
Gina highlighted that entries had to illustrate how club members were People of Action during 2019 and were 'being the inspiration'. The videos were to be produced 'in-house' and were to be prepared especially for the competition. Use of correct Rotary branding and innovation and professionalism of production were taking into consideration in selecting the winners.
