President Lili-Ann introduced the Monster Mash competition with the characters Rosina and Carlos potato. Members and friends were encouraged to enter the competition to grow the biggest potatoes in a bucket. The funds raised will go to the Rotary Foundation.

We were joined by members from the Ashwood College Permaculture Food Garden to give us advice about how to grow potatoes and also about the permaculture garden.

Fleur Morales, pictured above, thanked the Club for the assistance both financially and in particular by Roger Taylor to develop and maintain the garden program. Fleur spoke about the skills that are gained by growing your own fruit and vegetables. Allsion Jones, pictured below, then gave some tips on the potato growing process and distributed a pamphlet that she had kindly prepared to guide us on our potato farming experience.

Finally David Telford gave us a brilliant show and tell class on bees and bee hives.
