President Lili-Ann provided an outline of possible future events and activities that at this stage are still at the planning stage. Some very exciting opportunities are ahead for the Club.
Lili-Ann also mentioned that there is an opportunity to go along to a morning tea with the District Governor Grant Hocking on 29 August at the Amora Hotel, 649 Bridge Road Richmond from 10.30 to noon. Please let Lili-Ann know if you would like to attend

Doug Hawley indicated that this year's medical mission to the Philippines will be to the Mountain Province - the Club has not visited this area before. He described the area as like an alpine area which is known for it hiking. There are many schools in the area so there will be a very extensive ear screening program.
In regard to the meeting on 9 September, where some members will be heading off at 8 pm  to be part of the Q & A program, the intention is to still have our normal club meeting with the usual meal. We will request the Basscare staff to serve the meal a little earlier than usual so that there is plenty of time for those attending the Q & A program to be ready to catch the bus that is taking them to the show.
Roger Taylor distributed the potatoes seeds to all the members and friends who entered the Monster Mash potato growing competition where the funds raised are going  for the Rotary Foundation. Good luck with the potato growing.
Finally Janet Hay gave us an update on the Rotary for Bees potting parties. Two Sunday's have been set aside to plant bee friendly seedlings (Alyssum, Marigolds, Nasturtiums, Sunflowers, Lavender blue, Rosemary, Echinacea, Lemon balm and Borage) that will be sold at the Camberwell Sunday Market later in the year. Sunday 13 October at John McCaskill's home , 4 Leicester Street NthBalwyn and
Sunday 20 October at Janey Hay's home, 138 Purinuan Road Reservoir
Remember at our next meeting on 2 September we will have Thorold Merrett, former Magpies Team of the Century player as our presenter (see details below). Please come along in your best footy apparel to kick off the first week of the footy finals.
