Stories
Last Week's FORaMEAL Event

A great FORaMEAL packing event was held on Wednesday 31 March at the Amora hotel in Richmond.

Many members of our Club, other Clubs and friends and partners gathered together and, over a couple of hours, packed a bit over 15,000 meals.

Many thanks to all who volunteered their time to assist and also to the organisations who  donated ingredients and funding for the event and the Amora hotel for the venue.

Also many thanks to Val, Doug and the FORaMEAL team who organised the event.

Next Week's Speaker - Heather Maltby

My name is Heather and in January this year, thanks to the Rotary Club of Canterbury sponsoring me, I was given the wonderful opportunity to participate in the National Youth Science Forum (NYSF).

The NYSF is a 14 day program directed at students going into Year 12 who have an interest in science. Over the 14 days, I attended many lectures/talks about different types of science and learnt a lot about different career options in STEM.

It was fascinating and I loved to learn more about areas of science I was already interested in, as well as learning about some areas of science I was not aware existed. Because of COVID-19, the entire program was online in Victoria, however this meant that we were able to hear from some speakers who may not have been able to come had it been in person.

I'm very grateful to have been able to participate in the NYSF, and I look forward to speaking about it with you.
